Columbia, SC – Carolina senior point guard Tre’ Kelley underwent a small arthroscopic procedure today for a cartilage injury to his left knee and the surgery was deemed successful by USC orthopedic physician Chris Mazoue who performed the surgery.

“The procedure went great. We expect Tre’ will have a full recovery and he will continue to rehab his knee with USC trainer Mark Rodger,” said Mazoue.

Kelley led the team with 18.9 ppg and led the league with 21.1 ppg. He was named first-team All-SEC by both the SEC Coaches and the Associated Press.

“I am sure Gamecock fans join me in being pleased to learn that the doctors feel surgery was successful and that given the proper time, rest, care and rehab Tre’ should be back on the basketball court once again this summer,” said USC head coach Dave Odom. “Tre’ made so many personal sacrifices this year for our team and everything he’s done and meant to the program will be deeply appreciated. Our coaches and medical staffs are committed to his complete recovery.”
