COLUMBIA, S.C. — Senior Christyn Lucas from the University of South Carolina women’s tennis team was named to the SEC Women’s Tennis Community Service Team, the league office announced Monday. Lucas was one of nine members chosen for the squad.

A native of Miami, Fla., Lucas volunteers her time with Coaches vs. Cancer and the MS150 Bike Ride. She also is a volunteer reader at Congaree Elementary School and spends her time at the Children’s Hospital and Harvest Hope Food Bank.

On the tennis court, Lucas owns an 18-9 singles record and is 12-5 in dual matches. She has one of the Gamecocks’ top records in doubles at 22-5 and is 16-2 in dual contests, which includes a 7-1 mark against SEC opponents.
