Columbia, SC – In its first game, it was standing room only for the game between SCORE International and Boca Junior Club team in Monte, Argentina. The capacity crowd cheered feverously for both teams as the U.S. team walked away with the win by a final score of 86-79.

SCORE set the tone early with several long-range shots by University of South Carolina guard Bryce Sheldon. His game high 24 points, which included five 3-point shots, combined with David Huertas who penetrated to the basket for 15 points proved to be a deadly combination.

Carolina’s rising sophomores, Mitchell Carter and Chad Gray, also added to SCORE Internatiional’s point tally. Gray had eight points and six rebounds to Carter’s four points and six rebounds.

Considered to be one of the premier teams in Argentina, Boca Junior showed a skill for the fundamentals, but had no answer for the larger, more physical inside players of the USA. Post players combined for 26 points and dominated the glass as SCORE out rebounded BJAC 35-24.
