Columbia, S.C. – Current South Carolina pitcher Nick Godwin will compete on Tuesday, July 17 in the 2007 Coastal Plains League All-Star game, hosted by the Columbia Blowfish at Capital City Stadium. Godwin, one of three current Gamecocks on the Blowfish roster this summer, has put together a stellar summer with a 5-2 record and a 2.19 ERA in 49.1 innings pitched with 52 strikeouts and 14 walks allowed. Godwin will be entering his senior season with the Carolina program beginning in the fall.

Also playing for the Blowfish this summer from South Carolina is right-handed pitcher Blake Cooper and outfielder Adam Crisp. Carolina also has three players with the Spartanburg Stingers (catcher Kyle Enders, pitcher Alex Farotto, pitcher Evan Goldberg) as well as Parker Bangs with the Fayetteville SwampDogs, giving the Gamecocks seven total players this summer in the CPL.
