Columbia, S.C. – The 2007 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game will feature three current Gamecock players with left-handed pitcher Will Atwood on the East squad and infielders James Darnell and Reese Havens competing for the West squad. The All-Star game is scheduled for Saturday, July 28 with first pitch at 6 pm at Wareham’s Spillane Field. Havens will start for the West All-Stars as well.
Atwood is pitching this summer for the Orleans Cardinals and has compiled a 2-0 record to go with a 1.69 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched. This is Atwood’s second straight season as an All-Star in the Cape Cod League. Havens is also competing in his second CCBL All-Star game. He plays for the Cotuit Kettleers and is a .299 hitter with two HR and 13 RBI. Darnell is second in the CCBL with six home runs to go along with 18 RBI.
