CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The South Carolina women’s tennis team concluded play in the UVa Invitational on Sunday in Charlottesville, Va.

Junior Gira Schofield scored a victory over the nation’s No. 26-ranked player Tatsiana Uvarova of VCU 6-1, 6-3. Other singles winners for the Gamecocks included junior Suzanna Mansour, a 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 victor against Olena Leonchuk from VCU, and senior Megan McGavock, who upended Marshall’s Kassie Moore 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles, Schofield and sophomore Ana Marija Zubori notched an 8-5 triumph over the duo of Konstantinova/Uvarova of VCU, and Mansour and Natasa Vuckovic defeated VCU’s Burns/Petrashevitch 9-8.

The Gamecocks will next compete at the Furman Fall Classic over Sept. 28-30.
