COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina will join Gamecock fans at the Colonial Center Wednesday, Jan. 30 prior to the men’s basketball game against Georgia in the second annual Spurs & Saddles event.

Beginning at 6:30, Gamecock fans will get the chance to meet and take photos with the riders and their horses at the Colonial Center fountain. The team will be available until tip-off.

The South Carolina equestrian team will look to defend its national championship as it begins the spring season Saturday, Feb. 2. The Gamecocks will host New Mexico State at 10 a.m. at One Wood Farm in Blythewood. Carolina will also host rival Auburn the following Saturday, Feb. 9, before hosting the Southern Equestrian Championship (S.E.C.) from March 28-29. The S.E.C. consists of South Carolina, Auburn and Georgia and is the first time that the Gamecocks will host the championship.
