COLUMBIA, S.C. — Pitcher Melissa Hendon from the South Carolina softball team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Hendon won both outings against Arkansas, allowing just one earned run between the two. She notched her fourth shutout of the year and 13th of her career in the series finale versus the Lady Razorbacks. Hendon also struck out 10 and gave up just three hits in each contest.

Hendon moved into seventh place on South Carolina’s all-time list for strikeouts with 346 and is also tied for ninth in shutouts and is 10th for complete games (38).
