COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina men’s soccer coach Mark Berson has announced that the coaching staff will offer four summer camp programs in the summer of 2009. This will be the 31st season of Coach Berson’s summer camp program. The programs this summer will include two sessions of the Prospect Camp program, two sessions of the Junior School of Excellence Camp program, a Team Camp, and June and July Day Camp programs.

“Our camp program has proven to be both a method of helping players develop and improve their abilities, and an outstanding forum for us to evaluate talent. On our current roster, 75% of the players have attended our camp in the past”, noted coach Mark Berson.

The Day Camp programs will be held June 22-26 (boys only) and July 27-31 (boys and girls). Both camps offer a full day and half day program. Campers are grouped by age and ability in these sessions. We have a wide range of experience in this camp from first time soccer players to experienced youth players.

Prospect Camp will be held July 17-19 and July 24-26. The goal of this camp is to provide a top caliber collegiate training environment geared to evaluate and challenge players ages 14-18.

The Junior School of Excellence Camp will be held July 17-19 and July 24-26 for boys ages nine to 13. This camp will focus on the technical and tactical development of players desiring to take their game to a higher level both for their club or school. This camp will feature a competitive tournament format during the program.

The Team Camp program is offered to both club and high school varsity and JV teams July 17-19. This camp provides a competitive tournament format for club and high school coaches to work with their teams.
