South Carolina Head Coach Darrin Horn
Opening Statement…
I think all wins are good, of course, but this is an especially good one. I think winning is most important, but also having a sellout crowd. I thought everyone who was involved in that did a phenomenal job. Our marketing people, our fans and everybody. It changes everything. It was really a great night, and we appreciate all the fans. It was something special, and is definitely something we’d like to see a lot more of.

I think from a basketball standpoint, when you look at the stretch that we’ve had, the way our guys have just continued to respond to the challenges. Every game presents different challenges in league play, whether it’s a bounce back game, or two in a row on the road, or whatever it might be they’ve done that. It’s probably as good a team effort in terms of balance and sharing the basketball. I’m really proud of our guys.

On Sam Muldrow
I think Sam is a guy that we thought would come in and impact things; he’s an athletic guy. He plays hard and he affects things. His numbers were maybe more impressive tonight, especially in the points column, than they have been, but I think his contribution and his impact has been significant since the moment he stepped on the floor.

On attacking against Georgia’s defense…
In general, we talked about continuing to attack offensively and being aggressive in the way we want to play. I think we were a little bit more conscious of getting out and running and being more conscious in making the extra pass and giving the shot to a teammate. I thought we had some really unselfish passes in the first half.

On taking in the atmosphere and the crowd…
Right before the game, during the starting lineups, when all the hoopla and the kids and fans were really getting into it. Al McGuire told me one time when I was at Marquette that if you look up at the crowd and the corners are full, then you’ve done a good job.

On Devan Downey
I think what makes a player special is how he impacts a game. Devan is a special player. He doesn’t necessarily have to have 20 points or shoot a certain percentage to impact the game. He had a lot of impact on both sides of the ball tonight. His numbers and percentages weren’t that high tonight but his assist total was high. He got everybody else involved as well.

South Carolina Player Quotes
Dominique Archie

Thoughts on the game…
I think we gave great effort on both ends of the court. Our defense made a great step up from the Florida game. As a team, we made a step towards our goal.

On having multiple players in double figures…
We really focused on sharing the ball and trying to get everyone the ball because if one guy’s cold, it’s important that others can step up.
