COLUMBIA, S.C. – The second game of Friday night’s doubleheader between South Carolina and Alabama was suspended in the bottom of the fifth inning with Alabama ahead, 4-0, due to lightning in the Richland County area. The game will be resumed at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Beckham Field, with the final game of the three-game series scheduled to start 30 minutes after the completion of the suspended game.
The Crimson Tide scored runs in the first, third and fifth, the last two of those runs scoring on wild pitches.
Remember, anyone wearing pink on Saturday will pay just one dollar for admission. The first 50 people to Saturday’s game will get a pink Livestrong wristband, and all people who donate to the cause will be allowed to pick up a ribbon. Pink camouflage t-shirts will also be sold. And the silent auction will wrap up on Saturday as well, with items from your favorite Gamecock head coaches and teams as part of the effort. All donations and proceeds from the auction and t-shirts will go to the Komen For the Cure Foundation.
