COLUMBIA, S.C. –
The final tally is in for South Carolina’s Strike Out Cancer effort held in conjunction with the series victory over then-No. 4 Alabama, and the Gamecocks have learned they raised over $5,000 for the Komen For The Cure Foundation.

South Carolina got to this total through numerous promotions going on that weekend, including a “Pink Army” T-shirt sale, a silent auction of autographed items from Gamecock head coaches and former greats, and straight donations from the patrons at the games. All of the money is benefiting Komen For The Cure efforts in the Midlands.

The Gamecocks host Kentucky this weekend at Beckham Field, with game times set for 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
