BERLIN – Three-time Olympian Terrence Trammell took fourth overall in the qualifying heats of the 110-meter hurdles to advance to the semifinals at the IAAF World Championships held at Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany.

The South Carolina Hall of Fame member crossed the line at 13.51 to tie China’s Wei Ji for fourth place and automatically qualify for Thursday’s semifinal. Trammell and Ji both ran in the fifth heat en route to their photo finish.

“I felt good,” Trammell said. “I think that I was able to knock the dust off. It’s been two months since I competed. I’m healthy, I feel in great shape. It felt good to get the first round out of the way. I had a few cobwebs. I wanted to come out and get a feel for things. Tomorrow, I will turn it up a notch. There are no injuries. I just wanted to work on a few things and focus on the rest of the last half of the season.”

Trammell will run at 12:15 p.m. EST Thursday and will run in lane six of the first heat. Former Gamecocks Lashinda Demus and Tiffany Ross-Williams will also compete Thursday as they compete in the women’s 400-meter hurdle finals at 2:15 p.m. EST. The World Championships will be broadcast on Versus from 1:30-3:30 p.m. EST.
