COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina student-athletes will be collecting cans to support Harvest Hope Food Bank. The 2009 SEC “Together We CAN” Drive begins Friday and continues until Sunday, Sept. 27. All member institutions of the SEC are participating in the 10-day event.

Supporters may donate at the Ole Miss football game Sept. 24. Bins will be located at four corner locations around the Williams-Brice Stadium parking lot. Student-athletes will be present at the bins two and a half hours prior to kick off. Drop offs will be:

  • Southwest corner near Bluff Road and the Cockabooses
  • Northwest corner near the marquee at Bluff Road and George Rogers Blvd
  • Northeast corner near Key Road and George Rogers Blvd
  • Southeast corner near Key Road and the Cockabooses

Any person donating three or more canned goods at the football game will receive a voucher for a free 16 oz. soda.

In addition, bins for can collection will be placed at the women’s soccer match Friday at Stone Stadium and the volleyball game Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Volleyball Competition Facility. Donation drop offs will also be located at several grocery stores in Columbia, including BiLo Grocery Store at 4464 Devine St.
