Hannah: Hey man, what’s up?
Briana (who also goes by her nickname, Breezy): Not much man. I just got done with an awesome leg workout with our fabulous strength coach, Diesha.
Hannah: That sounds familiar. Oh wait! I just did the same thing. It was definitely a tough one. But, then again, they are always like that.
Breezy: Yeah, you are right about that. But I like them though because working hard only leads to greatness 🙂 Like Diesha says, don’t let it beat you! How about you? Do you like our workouts?
Hannah: Heck yeah dude! I love them, but you know my favorite is the arm workouts. Pretty soon I’m gonna be swole like you, playa.
Breezy: Haha. You can try, but you got a ways to go, dog. Anyways, besides working out, what else do you like about our new lives as South Carolina softball players? Other than being MY roommate of course.
Hannah: Ah hem. Well… besides you being so “great,” I happen to love everything about my new life as a Division I, SEC athlete. I like our intense practices during the week, catcher’s practices, and extra hitting practices and not to mention the month of 6 a.m. conditioning with the fabulous Diesha.
Breezy: I know what you mean. We have only been here for about three months, and I can see tremendous improvement. I can actually run a mile without wheezing and using my inhaler. Haha.
Hannah: Yea the mile is a “breeze.”
Breezy: Not funny.
Hannah: Ok well anyway, the softball is great, and our teammates are too. But there is one thing that tops everything.
Breezy: Uh, is it the wonderful academic side of SC?
Hannah: Although quite enjoyable, no.
Breezy: Is it the cool roommate we got from Sweden?
Hannah: I mean Panda is a great one to have around, but no not it either.
Breezy: Ok I got it, it is the wonderful memories we have made so far.
Hannah: Um no. It is the FOOD!! We get three meals a day seven days a week with the swipe of a card. The beloved meal plan. And not only does SC have great food choices, but athletes get to eat at the training table. That is the yummiest cafeteria on the whole campus, and it is all you can eat! And we can eat a lot!
Breezy: Man, I don’t know how I didn’t guess that. You are so right though. I also love calling in a “Lonestar” sub from Verde Café and picking it up on the way home from practice. It is so convenient and oh so delicious.
Hannah: My favorite meal is a tall Starbucks coffee and a blueberry muffin from The Coloquiem Café. It’s the best muffin in the world, for sure.
Breezy: Haha I think we could talk about food all day if we wanted. But we have to tell these people exactly what it feels like to be a Gamecock.
Hannah: You right about that, I could go all day. But a good place to start is talking about our first game!
Breezy: Dude, when I put on that jersey for the first time I could tell that it was meant to be.
Hannah: Yeah, I know what you’re saying. Besides us looking so fly, I could tell we were doing it right.
Breezy: OK, I have to get to my cardio workout. But it has been fun letting you know a little about how we have been doing things here at South Carolina.
Hannah: Yeah, I think I will join you. I can’t wait to spend the next four years here playing great softball and making good grades.
Breezy: Me either man, it’s you and me taking over for four years.
Hannah: Game time, lets go. Go Cocks!
