WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Senior Ana Marija Zubori from the South Carolina women’s tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Wilson/ITA Carolina Regional Tennis Championships on Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Zubori, ranked No. 29 nationally, defeated Jelena Durisic from North Carolina in her first match 6-3, 6-4 and then took out No. 83 Berkeley Brock of North Carolina State 7-5, 6-1 to reach the quarters. She will play Wake Forest’s Martina Pavelec on Sunday.
In doubles, Zubori and teammate Madeleine Saari-Byström fell 8-6 to Duke’s Amanda Granson and Ellah Nze.
