Hello to all you Gamecock Fans again!!

The time is finally here. My favorite time of year, softball season. As we start playing games in less than three weeks now, we are taking every day to better prepare ourselves for the first pitch on Feb. 12th! We are striving to be the best that we can be, mentally and physically, to be ready for our toughest SEC opponents.

On a very exciting note, on Tuesday night the men’s basketball team made Gamecock history beating the top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats. I am so glad that I got to be a part of such a great victory. The feeling in the Colonial Life Arena was one of Gamecock pride as our student body stormed the court at the sound of the buzzer. Our team can learn a lot from the win over the Wildcats. When a team gives everything they have, never gives up and works together, anything can happen. I want our team to take that attitude onto the field for every pitch and every opponent that we face this 2010 season.

This Saturday, your Gamecock softball team will be signing autographs and throwing out t-shirts at the men’s basketball game against the Georgia Bulldogs. Come out and support the Gamecocks on Saturday and on February 12th. You won’t want to miss the great feeling of Gamecock pride when the first pitch is thrown!! Can’t wait to see you in the stands this season. Go Cocks!
