COLUMBIA, S.C. – The new Southeastern Conference television package has added many live events to the schedule for every sport, and softball is no exception. South Carolina will have three games broadcast on cable this season, including a national ESPNU showing at Kentucky on April 11.

The Gamecocks also have two games on regional networks, starting with a March 21 contest against national semifinalist Alabama on FSN. The final contest will emanate from Beckham Field, as South Carolina will host Mississippi State on April 18 with SportSouth set to provide the broadcast. The game against the Bulldogs will be the final home game for Gamecock seniors Adele Voigt and Lindsay Walker. All three of the televised contests are slated for 2 p.m. ET starts.

On GamecocksOnline.com, every softball game will have a live audio broadcast through Gamecock All-Access, while the home games will be shown on a delay over the same service.

A total of 30 games are scheduled for broadcast this season, including the entire SEC Softball Tournament from Bogle Park in Fayetteville, Ark. The first round and semifinals will be on ESPNU, while the tournament finals will be shown on ESPN.

South Carolina opens the 2010 season on Friday at 5 p.m. against College of Charleston as a part of the Palmetto State Showdown. Seven of the nine Division I teams in the state come to Beckham Field for the three-day event over Valentine’s Day weekend.
