COLUMBIA, S.C. – LSU starter Brittany Mack held down South Carolina (9-13, 0-4 SEC), and the Tiger offense exploded in a 9-0 win in six innings over the Gamecocks in game two of the doubleheader at Beckham Field.

The Tigers (20-4, 2-0 SEC) posted two runs in the second on an RBI single by Morgan Russell and a wild pitch that plated Allison Falcon. They added another in the third on Anissa Young’s RBI single.

Three more came across in the fourth for LSU. Kirsten Shortridge drew a bases-loaded walk to send home Falcon, while Rachel Mitchell brought in both Jessica Mouse and Shortridge with a two-out, two-RBI hit. After going down in order in the fifth, LSU sent three more around in the sixth. Shortridge collected a two-RBI single and later scored on Mitchell’s double.
