COLUMBIA, S.C. – Fresh off a strong performance at the SEC Championship, the 26th-ranked South Carolina women’s golf team will conclude its regular season with a 36-hole tri-match against East Carolina and Duke on Saturday. The event will take place at Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, N.C., which is also the site of next month’s NCAA East Regional.

South Carolina will send out four of the five that competed in last week’s SEC Championship with seniors Corrine Carr and Taylor Barrett joining sophomore Katie Burnett and freshman Amanda Strang. Freshman Meredith Swanson will make her initial appearance in the lineup this spring as well. Carr comes into the weekend on a roll after firing the second-lowest round in school history last week, shooting 67 (-4) in the final round of the SEC Championship.

The Gamecocks enter the weekend with an overall record of 68-75-2 on the season and finished seventh at last week’s SEC Championship. Their team score of 867 (+15) was the second-lowest 54-hole total in school history, only falling short of an 861 posted by the 2002 team to win the SEC Championship.

Duke is ranked No. 3 in the country and finished third at last week’s ACC Championship. East Carolina, ranked No. 67 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rating, was the runner-up at the Conference USA Championship, which wrapped up Tuesday in Hattiesburg, Miss. For the season, the Gamecocks are 1-4 against the Blue Devils and 1-0 versus the Pirates.

Ironwood Country Club will be set up to play at par 72, 6,325 yards. Tee times begin at 8 a.m., and there will be no live scoring of the match. A full recap will follow on GamecocksOnline.com.
