Coach Tanner Quotes
On Nolan Belcher: “Obviously if you look at his line score, it’s pretty impressive. I was hoping he’d be a little bit sharper than he was. The four walks… a little bit disturbing. That being said, he hadn’t been there in a while, but we’re looking for somebody to really take it and run with it. But he did fine, and you got to take that into consideration.”
On Jackie Bradley Jr. calling this a rebound game: “Well I think it has to be to an extent because we won on Friday and then lost on Saturday and Sunday. You want to come out and play well, but you want to win, you don’t want to have a three-game losing streak. We did some good things, we swung the bat early, and we kept them off the board.”
On the possible no-hitter: “I was well aware of it, but I didn’t really dwell on that, it wasn’t really that kind of game. We changed pitchers, it wasn’t something we were going to go after. Burrell had some bad luck… he had a couple of balls fell just out of reach. It picked our interest there for a while.”
On the offense getting into gear: “We squared up a couple of balls early. I was glad to see it happening a little bit… And today we got our share of runs and hits.”
