COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina junior Johnny Dutch has been named SEC Runner of the Week by the conference office after improving his times in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles last week to jump to the top of the conference list in both events. The honor is the second this year for Dutch who earned his first career weekly honor on March 23.

Dutch swept hurdle events at the Tar Heel Invitational last Saturday by running a personal best time in the 110-meter hurdles and a season best time in the 400-meter hurdles. Dutch won the 110-meter hurdles at 13.50 to move to a tie for No. 2 in the NCAA this season. He also improved his 400-meter hurdle time to 49.48, also solidifying his spot as No. 2 in the NCAA heading into the championship season. Dutch is the only athlete in the country to crack the national top 15 in both events.

South Carolina travels to Knoxville, Tenn., this week to compete at the SEC Outdoor Championships held May 13-16 at Tom Black Track.
