COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina volleyball team had a busy Sunday, getting two scrimmages in during the day around the Fan Appreciation Day event in Colonial Life Arena.

While stats were not available for the first session of the day, the second was pretty balanced. Both groups had eight blocks and 55 digs in the four sets, two played to 25 and two to 15. Leading the way in kills and digs during the session was the newest addition to the team, Juliette Thévenin, who tallied 13 between the two sides. Sophomore setter Taylor Bruns had 33 assists and four aces during the outing while hitting .545 on her attempts. Her team hit .226 in the scrimmage. Senior Megan Laughlin posted five blocks, topping all players.

In between the intrasquad matches, the Gamecocks went to Colonial Life Arena for the annual Fan Appreciation Day festivities. Seated on the concourse, the squad took pictures and signed posters for many fans during their session.

The team has two more scrimmages planned for the week, and reports will come after both at GamecocksOnline.com.
