COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina freshman midfielder Chipper Root has been named one of CollegeSoccerNews.com’s “100 Freshman To Keep An Eye On” list for 2010.

Root, a Chapel Hill, N.C., native started both of South Carolina’s exhibition contests this season. He scored the game-winning goal in the Gamecocks’ 2-1 come-from-behind victory versus College of Charleston, while leading Carolina with four shots in the match.

Season tickets for men’s soccer, which includes admission to all home games, are currently on sale in the Gamecock Ticket Office. Fans can purchase tickets online at GamecocksOnline.com, or by calling 1-800-4SC-FANS. Cost for season tickets for men’s soccer is $25 for adults and $10 for youth (17 and under).
