AUBURN, Ala. – Anya Morgina and Dominika Kanakova from the South Carolina women’s tennis team posted undefeated records on the first day of the SEC Fall Coaches Classic on Friday in Auburn, Ala.
Kanakova and Morgina opened the day with an 8-2 victory against Leatu and Mira from Vanderbilt followed by an 8-6 triumph over Arechavaleta and Thornton from Auburn in flight three. The two will compete for the flight championship Saturday.
Morgina, ranked 70th in the preseason rankings, scored a win against No. 78 Connor Vogel in her singles match by scores of 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in flight 1B. In flight 4B, Kanakova posted a convincing 6-1, 6-2 win over Stephanie Roy of Arkansas.
