COLUMBIA, S.C. – The 20th-ranked South Carolina men’s soccer team travels to face No. 5 Tulsa in Conference USA action on Saturday from the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. South Carolina enters the contest with a 5-3-1 overall record, including a 1-1-0 mark in league action.

South Carolina enters Saturday’s contest after suffering a 3-1 loss to No. 8 SMU on Wednesday. Senior forward Blake Brettschneider tallied the lone Gamecock goal in the match, his team-leading fourth of the season. Freshman midfielder Bradlee Baladez, who has three goals on the year, and senior defender Will Traynor, who has tallied three goals and earned one assist, have been contributors to the Gamecock offense this season.

Goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer, who has two assists on the year – one each in the past two games – has played every minute in net for the Gamecocks this season. He enters Saturday’s contest with 32 saves on the year and four shutouts.

The Golden Hurricane enters the contest with a 7-2-0 overall record and a 1-0-0 mark in Conference USA, and is coming off a 3-1 loss to No. 11 Creighton on Tuesday. Austin Neil leads Tulsa with eight goals for 16 points and Ashley McInnes has five goals and four assists for 14 points. Goalkeeper Ray Clark has logged over 800 minutes in goal, earning 27 saves and two shutouts on the season.

Tulsa owns a 4-2-2 lead in the all-time series between the two schools.
