South Carolina head coach Ray Tanner and former Gamecock catcher Landon Powell were honored on Tuesday evening at the 2011 Raleigh Hot Stove League Banquet. Tanner received the Board of Directors Special Achievement Award with Powell also being honored after catching Dallas Braden’s perfect game with the Oakland A’s last year. Powell, who lettered from 2001-04, talked about the experience and his recent success in Major League Baseball.
