WACO, TX – No. 6 South Carolina continues its road trip on Saturday, as the Gamecocks travel to Waco to face Delaware State at Baylor’s Willis Family Equestrian Center.

“Delaware State is a solid team, they have some really good riders, and it ought to be a great competition,” South Carolina head coach Boo Major said. “With it being a neutral site competition, neither team has the typical home field advantage, so we’re looking forward to getting to compete against them on an even field.”

The Gamecocks are 2-4 and coming off a 15-5 loss to No. 1 Texas A&M on Friday. The Hornets are coming off a Friday competition against SMU in Dallas, and will compete against both the Gamecocks and host school Baylor on Saturday.

In Equitation Over Fences, the Gamecock riders will be junior Carolyn Curcio, sophomore Tilden Brighton, sophomore captain Alex Arute, and freshman Kelsey Hart. Hart is competing for the first time as a Gamecock, and performed exhibition rides in Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat on Friday at Texas A&M.

In Equitation on the Flat, Arute and Hart will remain in the lineup for South Carolina. They will be joined in the lineup by junior Colvin Hedgepeth and freshman Rachel Roter.

In Horsemanship, South Carolina will compete senior Hailey Thornton, sophomores Kelsey Stangebye and Kayla Gamble, and redshirt freshman Johnna Letchworth. Letchworth is 3-1-1 this season for the Gamecocks, while Gamble will be competing for the first time this season.

In Reining, senior Chloe Gray will lead the Gamecocks against the Hornets. Joining her in competition will be sophomore Melody Malbin, and freshmen Melia Blakely and Jordan Brown. Gray won her ride on Friday and was named MVP for the second time this season, while Blakely also won her ride against the Aggies on Friday.
