COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina has seen its softball schedule adjusted again for SportSouth, as the previously announced regional television broadcast for Sat., April 16 at Arkansas has moved up an hour to a 1 p.m. ET start. The network has also picked up the Sat., March 26 game at Tennessee, changing that game time to 12:30 p.m. ET.
The Saturday game at Arkansas was selected earlier as part of the SEC’s new television package, and the network has now agreed to move the broadcast start to its new time to avoid a conflict with the spring football game in Fayetteville. SportSouth opted to televise the Saturday game of the Tennessee series as part of its deal with the Vol Network.
The Tennessee pickup means four South Carolina softball games will be televised this season, including an ESPNU national broadcast of the series finale at Arkansas at 3 p.m. ET. The last home game of 2011 for the Gamecocks is also on television, as the Sunday, May 1 contest against Florida starts at 12 p.m. ET on SportSouth.3
South Carolina starts SEC play on Wednesday afternoon at Mississippi State, with first pitch for the doubleheader set for 4 p.m. CST at the MSU Softball Field.
