COLUMBIA, S.C. – Seven South Carolina men’s soccer players have earned the prestigious Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal, awarded to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.

Freshmen Stephen Anderson and Chris Duzan, along with sophomore Kevin Stam, junior Eric Martinez and seniors Sam Arthur, Jimmy Maurer and Will Traynor have earned the 2010-11 honor.

The group is part of South Carolina’s 28 honorees on the Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll, which was announced yesterday. The Honor Roll recognizes those student-athletes that hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above. South Carolina’s 28 honorees are the most out of any C-USA men’s soccer program this season, while Carolina’s seven Academic Medal winners is also the most of any C-USA men’s soccer program for the 2010-11 season.
