It’s been a while since we checked in with our Gamecock volleyball players here for Volley Voices. So to start things back up, let’s see what they’ve been up to, as most ventured away from Columbia at the end of the spring semester and just returned for the second summer session. Some shared most of their vacation time, while others picked out a highlight for you.

Do you have a question you’d like to ask the team? Post it on our Facebook page.

Taylor Bruns: I went home, spent some great time with the family, worked out a lot, saw old friends, made new friends, went to Mexico with my family, had Kathryn (Pearce) come visit, visited her in Charleston and got a tan (well, for me anyway).

Christina Glover: I went to Omaha with Frankie (Vain) to watch the College World Series!

Kathryn Pearce: Went to Illinois to visit Taylor Bruns then drove back 12 hours to Columbia with her!

Frankie Vain: Went to watch the College World Series with Christina (Glover)!

Cara Howley: My favorite thing I did since last semester was go to California with my family. We got to go hiking and go to the beach all in one vacation!

Brandi Byers: Spending some quality time with my family, coaching and climbing Stone Mountain.

Teresa Stenlund: I’ve been at home enjoying my time with my family and friends. In June, I took a family trip to Sweden for my grandmother’s funeral, but it was great to see all of my Swedish relatives who I hadn’t seen in about seven years.

Paige Wheeler: I played a lot of beach volleyball and spent a lot of time with my friends and family since the semester ended. My favorite thing was just being home.

Kellie Schmidt: Volunteer coached youth league. Spent time on the lake!

Lindsey Craft: After spring semester, I took a “Maymester” class and did rehab on my knee to get back in shape! And when I got back home, I had friends come up to the lake, and we went jet skiing and tubing! It was a lot of fun getting to hang out with my family and friends. 🙂
