PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.Anya Morgina and Dijana Stojic from the South Carolina women’s tennis team exited the final round of qualifying at the ITA/Riviera All-American Championships on Wednesday in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Stojic lost to No. 26-ranked Joanna Mather from Florida 6-1, 6-2, and Morgina fell in straight sets to Robin Anderson of UCLA 6-0, 6-4. Stojic and Morgina were one win away from reaching the 32-person main draw of the All-American, the first of the ITA’s Grand Slam events in 2011-12.

On Tuesday, Stojic and Morgina scored a pair of wins each over nationally ranked opponents. Stojic beat players ranked Nos. 57 and 38, while Morgina defeated Nos. 76 and 48.

The Gamecocks will return to action when select members of the team travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships over Oct. 20-24.
