CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — South Carolina women’s tennis junior Jaklin Alawi fell in the quarterfinals of the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Sunday to Clemson’s Nelly Ciolkowski by a 6-2, 6-3 count.

The fall season is now complete for the Gamecocks. Alawi had the best singles record with an 11-2 mark, while Dominika Kanakova compiled the most doubles wins with an 8-2 record. South Carolina will open the spring campaign Jan. 25 hosting Furman at 4 p.m.
