2012 South Carolina Sprint/Hurdle Clinic Flyer

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Head Coach Curtis Frye has announced that the 2012 Sprint/Hurdle Coaches Clinic will be held Nov. 16-17 in Columbia. The headquarters for the annual clinic will be held at The Clarion Hotel at 1615 Gervais Street, two blocks from the University of South Carolina campus.

Featured speakers at the clinic will be Bobby Kersee, Curtis Frye, Ron Garner, Kevin Brown and Mike Sergent. Dr. Ralph Mann will return as a special guest speaker as well.

Kersee coaches Alyson Felix and is a world-renowned coach who has helped his athletes win multiple Olympic and World Championship gold medals.

Frye has coached for over 30 years and is respected as one of the top hurdle/sprint coaches in the world, having coached many Olympic, World and NCAA Champions in his career – including 2012 Olympic Silver Medalists Lashinda Demus and Jason Richardson.

Dr. Mann is and has been an advisor for most of the US Olympic & World Championship medal winners for almost 20 years. He is world renown and is considered the premier biomechanical expert in the US.

Garner brings over 25 years of experience at the collegiate level that includes stints at Clemson, Virginia, Illinois and South Carolina. He has coached many NCAA champions, conference champions and All-Americans in his career.

Brown has coached numerous All-Americans, SEC Champions and NCAA Champions in his two stints at South Carolina. He was a top coordinator of South Carolina’s 2002 NCAA Championship women’s team, and has also spent time as a coach for Team USA at the Junior Pan American Games.

Sergent was recently inducted to the Virginia Tech Athletics Hall of Fame for his contributions to the sport. He has coached numerous All-Americans, SEC Champions and NCAA Champions at South Carolina as well as four Olympians.
