COLUMBIA, S.C. – Gamecock head softball coach Beverly Smith set her next clinics for Nov. 18, with two sessions focusing on offense with another for pitchers in the USC Fieldhouse.
Pitchers can learn the fundamentals and mechanics of a change-up and a fastball in the morning session that begins at 10 a.m. Pitchers do not have to bring a catcher to this clinic.
Hitters have two sessions to round out their game. The morning session, titled “Manufacturing Runs,” will teach players how to sacrifice bunt, drag bunt, slug and slap while also teaching some baserunning techniques as well. Offense remains the focus for the afternoon, as Smith and her staff will work on power hitting with attendees.
Admission to the clinics is $60 per session, with the pitching and short game three-hour sessions starting at 10 a.m. The power-hitting clinic begins at 2 p.m. People signing up for two clinics can do so for the discounted price of $110 when done during one online registration session.
Registration is online at bevsmithsoftball.com, and it closes on Wed., Nov. 14. These sessions are designed for players 10-18 years old, and participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment.
Camps are open to all, limited only by gender, age, grade level and/or number of participants.
