2013 Baseball Schedule Get Acrobat Reader

The South Carolina baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2013 season featuring 29 games against 2012 NCAA Tournament teams as well as 35 home games at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks open the season on Friday, February 15, hosting a three-game series vs. Liberty.

South Carolina and Clemson will meet for a fourth-consecutive year in a unique three-game setting. The series opens on Friday, March 1 at Clemson. Game two of the series on Saturday, March 2 shifts to Greenville, S.C. and Fluor Field, home of the Greenville Drive, a minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox for the Reedy River Rivalry game. The series finale is in Columbia on Sunday, March 3 at Carolina Stadium at 1:30 p.m.

The Gamecocks’ 30-game SEC schedule begins on Friday, March 15, with South Carolina traveling to Missouri for the first time in school history. A rematch of two NCAA College World Series teams will take place the week after as South Carolina and Arkansas meet at Carolina Stadium in the Gamecocks’ first home SEC series.

The Gamecocks will also host Texas A&M (March 29-31), Kentucky (April 19-21), Vanderbilt (May 3-5) and Georgia (May 10-12). Other SEC road series include at Tennessee (April 5-7), at Florida (April 12-14), at LSU (April 26-28), and at Mississippi State (May 16-18).

Along with the Clemson series, South Carolina will play 10 additional in-state contests this year with Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Furman, Presbyterian, The Citadel, USC Upstate and Wofford on the schedule.

In addition to Missouri on the conference slate, South Carolina will also face Albany, Ball State and Rider for the first time ever on the baseball diamond.

The SEC Tournament is scheduled for May 21-26 at Regions Park in Hoover, Ala. with the NCAA Regionals and NCAA Super Regionals the following two weeks. The College World Series in Omaha, Neb. is slated from June 15-25/26 at TD Ameritrade Park.

South Carolina won the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship in 2010 and 2011 at the College World Series as well as a national runner-up finish in 2012. South Carolina has 11 College World Series appearances including six in the last 11 years. Carolina owns the second-highest win total in the nation in the last 13 years with a 626-251 record. South Carolina is one of six schools to appear in the NCAA Regional every season in the last 13 years including 10 NCAA Super Regional appearances in that span, one of only two schools to accomplish the feat.

Carolina owns more overall wins than any SEC team in the last 13 years and more conference wins than any SEC team in the last 13 years with a 240-148 record. South Carolina is the only SEC school to record 40 or more wins each season from 2000-present and the only SEC school to reach the NCAA Regional every season in the last 13 years.
