COLUMBIA, S.C. — Recognized worldwide as the premier applied sports psychologist, Dr. Bob Rotella has been an invaluable resource to Gamecock golfers and coaches for the past sixteen years.

During last weekend’s mental training sessions, Dr. Rotella was bestowed the program’s highest accolade, being named an honorary Gamecock Golf letterman.

“Having Doc work with our teams is incredible,” South Carolina men’s head coach Bill McDonald said. “His insight into achieving greatness along with his experience working with the premier athletes in the world is invaluable to our programs.”

Gamecock women’s head coach Kalen Harris added, “Our goal is to establish Carolina Golf as a perennial national power. To accomplish this our student-athletes must be prepared mentally and emotionally to perform under pressure and adversity. There is no doubt that we have the very best to assist us.”

Rotella joins singer/songwriter sensation Darius Rucker, Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey and Golf Hall of Fame architect Pete Dye as honorary golf lettermen.
