Head Coach Chad Holbrook
Opening Statement…
Well it was a frustrating weekend for us. Congratulations to Arkansas for being able to come into Carolina Stadium and sweep us, that is no easy task. They have a great team and they played terrifically all weekend long. I was proud of our guys for showing a little bit of fight there late. Fant was terrific, our guys couldn’t pick it up. He has great arm speed on it, and it is tough to hit that pitch. It is very similar to what Nolan Belcher does. I thought Wynkoop for making the start for a freshman kept us in the game. He gave us what we wanted from him, and then Curt Britt came in and threw the ball well as well. Tyler Webb was terrific again. He gave us a shot to win. We need to regroup, bounce back and move on.

On trouble with batting…
I just told them that baseball is a funny sport. I think we have a good group of guys and some good hitters, but you wouldn’t know that by looking at the stats from SEC play for sure. I think we are hitting about .170 and that’s no good enough. We have to make some changes and see if we can get some positive momentum going.

On swing in momentum late…
I felt good, we were in their pen and we had our guy that we wanted in there with a chance to win the game. I’m proud of our guys’ want to and fight. I’ve got no beef with that, I just thought we would be a little bit better offensively at this point than we have showed through these six games of SEC play. We just have to get better, and we will.

Tyler Webb
On his longest outing of the season…
I felt good. Yeah it was a little bit of a longer outing, but there in the later innings I still felt good. They strung a couple of hits together and maybe I wasn’t getting ahead as well I was in the other innings but that wasn’t fatigue factor. That was just an execution factor.

On learning from a 1-5 start last year and applying it to this year…
Obviously starting off 1-5 last year wasn’t the best situation, but looking back now we got some younger guys that were on that team that went through that and have to take a bigger role this year. So maybe it was a good thing for them to be a part of that and experience us coming back from that. Hopefully all of our experiences with that will really help this team.

On the difficulty of stringing together big innings…
It makes it really tough for sure. I think we battled that a little bit last year. We started off 1-5 last year so by no mean is out season over. Obviously didn’t want to come here and get swept. That’s the worst-case scenario, but we will bounce back.

On sacrifice bunting more this game…
I mean you put the runner in scoring position for Grayson Greiner and Max Schrock, two of our best hitters, and coach actually took it off the first time with two strikes. I did that on my own. I think it was the best situation to help us win, so I wanted to do it.
