COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Track and Field program travels to Raleigh, N.C., for the Raleigh Relays. The event, hosted by North Carolina State University, is slated for Friday and Saturday.
Events get started early on Friday, with the 5,000-meter run at 10:10 a.m. Senior Ceci Kryst is the first South Carolina field athlete to compete on Friday. Kryst, who has won the long jump the last two weekends, kicks the Gamecock field action off at 11 a.m.
The 100-meter dash and hurdle finals along with the relays and women’s pole vault highlight Saturday’s lineup.
Jeannelle Scheper to compete at CARIFTA Games
Junior high jumper Jeannelle Scheper breaks away from the team this weekend to represent her native St. Lucia at the 43rd CARIFTA Games in Nassau, Bahamas. This is the fourth time Scheper has competed at the games, winning bronze in her previous three CARIFTA appearances.
The women’s high jump is scheduled to begin on Sunday, March 31, at 9 a.m. (ET).
