Head Coach Chad Holbrook
On Vince Fiori’s performance
His performance enabled us to win the game. I thought that Colby (Holmes) was just okay, its not the Colby that has pitched at a high level for us and I didn’t think that Curt (Britt) threw the way he is capable of. Vince (Fiori) really gave us an opportunity and chance to win the game and was the main reason we did win the game. He has been pitching well for us and we extended him more than we wanted to today just because we were trying to rest some guys. He will be even more effective in one inning stints or facing two lefties and that sort of thing. We extended him tonight and it was really a shot in the arm for us and helped us win the game.

On Colby Holmes’ role this coming weekend
He can bounce back from 43 pitches. He was in the discussion for throwing Saturday or Sunday but not starting necessarily. I don’t know how Coach (Jerry) Meyers is going to use him and we will talk about that tomorrow. Colby has been around the block a time or two and has pitched in some big games for us, with that being said he has to pitch better than he has and I think he would be the first to tell you that.

On the offensive performance tonight
We had 12 hits and it was good to see Max (Schrock) get three knocks and hit the ball with some authority. Grayson (Greiner) got a couple hits, Connor (Bright) got a couple hits and we did some decent things. TJ (Costen) had a big swing of the bat that got us two runs to help us win and gave us a little bit more momentum. They had cut it to 4-2 and that home run got it to 6-2. We had a number of guys contribute, Graham (Saiko) got a couple hits. It was an okay night offensively and it was good to see LB (Dantzler) reach double digits in home runs off of a tough lefty so that was good to see.

On the biggest adjustment to try and stay consistent…
What really helped me tonight was to think that this is a new season. My previous at bats I have been thinking about what I did before and what I did 10 at bats ago. So today I went in and said (to myself) that this is a new season and this last half is brand new and I wanted to go out there and put some swings on it

Grayson Greiner
Did you feel you were in control tonight?
I felt like we were in control Vince (Fiori) came in and shut the door on them and the next few innings he was in cruise control. They took some really good swings. My cousin plays at UNC Asheville and I texted him before the game to see how they played because his team played them last weekend and he said that they really swung it. They proved that tonight they hit a lot of balls and had some good arms so we are lucky to have Vince (Fiori) who really kept us in the game and we were able to get a few runs.

On the teams momentum thus far
We try to approach every game without looking ahead or dwell on the past. Four wins in a row after the Arkansas series is definitely good because we get to go play a really good Furman team tomorrow and then travel to face a good Tennessee team. Its a lot better coming off four straight wins than it is coming off four straight losses going in to those games. These teams always have a confident mindset going in to games and I feel the same about this team.

On your night tonight
I felt good in the bullpen and felt good coming out there and got ahead of hitters and tried to throw strikes.

On longest outing of the season
I haven’t thrown that many pitches in an outing yet but I still felt fresh and was still throwing strikes and they just really go ahold of one.
