COLUMBIA, S.C. – With a 7-0 record in the exhibition season, South Carolina’s softball team has shown a bit of its strength this fall, and the team will showcase its talents once on the road taking on Anderson University at Wren High School on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

South Carolina has done plenty of damage at the plate, led by senior Ashlyn Masters. She has 12 hits, seven runs, seven RBI and three homers in fall action. Three other Gamecocks have hit homers, while 15 out of 21 have driven in runs. In the circle, redshirt junior Julie Sarratt has led the Gamecocks with 14 strikeouts against five walks in 17 innings of work.

The Anderson Trojans made the NCAA Division II Softball Championship for the first time last spring, advancing to the Southeast Super Regional finals. Anderson returns two All-Americans from that squad, Danielle Swygert and Jessica Neidigh, but have to replace both of its pitchers who tossed all 362.1 innings a year ago.

The game will be played at Wren High School in Anderson, S.C., the former home of Gamecock senior Chelsea Hawkins. The Gamecocks will have a limited number of signing cards for fans to collect autographs on this Saturday.

South Carolina hosts a fall-closing scrimmage at 5 p.m. on Monday where fans can purchase season tickets at the Select Your Seat event at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field.
