Gamecocks Get Two ESPNU Games Under SEC Softball TV Schedule

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Southeastern Conference announced its television schedule for the softball season, and South Carolina had two games picked up on ESPNU, both Saturday contests in series at Tennessee and at home vs. LSU.
The Gamecocks’ home game against the LSU Tigers on April 19 will keep its 4 p.m. EDT start time originally set, in the penultimate SEC series of the year for South Carolina. The game at Tennessee, set for Sat., March 23, moves to a 2:30 p.m. EDT first pitch at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. The Tennessee game marks the open of the SEC softball television schedule on ESPNU and the start of ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA Division I softball season.
In addition to the regular season television schedule being announced, ESPN has announced the game times for the 2014 SEC Softball Tournament, set for Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field on May 7-10. Wednesday’s opening round games will begin at 4 and 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU, while Thursday’s quarterfinals starts with the first session at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and the later session at 4 and 6:30 p.m., also all on ESPNU. Friday’s semifinals move to 3 and 5:30 p.m. on ESPNU, with Saturday’s championship game an 8 p.m. first pitch on ESPN2.
South Carolina starts its 41st season of intercollegiate softball on Fri., Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. against Iowa during the 2014 Carolina Classic. Season tickets, $25 for adults and $10 for youth 17 and under, are still available from the Gamecock Ticket Office at gamecocksonline.com/tickets or by calling 1-800-4SC-FANS (1-800-472-3267). Individual game tickets for the season will be $7 for adults and $4 for youth, with group tickets available by calling the Gamecock Ticket Office.
