Gamecocks Tied For Fifth Place At Bryan National Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. –

The South Carolina women’s golf team shot a 5-over 293 on Saturday at the Bryan Park Golf and Enrichment Center and is currently tied for fifth place through two rounds of the Bryan National Collegiate. The Gamecocks have a two-round score of 595 (+19).

Duke is in currently in first place with a score of 582 (+6). Florida State is in second place and Ohio State is in third place with first rounds scores of 588 (+12) and 591 (+15), respectively.

Senior Samantha Swinehart carded the low round of the day for the Gamecocks with a 1-under 71. Through two rounds Swinehart is tied for 11th place with a score of 146 (+2).

Justine Dreher is currently tied for eighth place with a two-round score of 145 (+1). The junior shot a 1-over 73 in Saturday’s second round.

Sophomore Sarah Schmelzel carded a 2-over 74 in the second round to give her a total score of 150 (+6). Schmelzel is currently tied for 33rd place.

Suzie Lee, who is competing in the tournament as an individual, has a two-round score of 154 (+10) after shooting an 81 (+9) on Saturday.

Sophomore Mary Fran Hillow and freshman Katelyn Dambaugh both finished the day tied for 70th place with score of 156 (+12). Hillow shot a 3-over 75 in the second round while Dambaugh carded a 5-over 77.

Sierra Sims of Wake Forest is currently in first place with a 2-under 142. With two-round score of 143 (-1), four golfers are currently tied for second place.

The third and final round is scheduled to begin Sunday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring is available here
