Georgia Head Coach Lu Harris-Champer

Opening Statement
What a great game, I can’t say enough about the performance of Chelsea (Wilkinson) and Katie (Browne) behind the plate with her, just phenomenal. I thought Geri Ann (Glasco) was amazingly clutch at the plate, got in there and just nice and easy, put the barrel on the ball. Our defense was fantastic for the game, and that’s what we’ve got to keep going and doing forward.

On Wilkinson’s performance…
Yeah, Chelsea’s had some great performances and this was one of those great ones. She was out there playing for her team, she had no thought of the outcome or “what could” or “what could this be?” She was up there dealing pitches and knowing that her team was behind her. I am very proud of her for taking the game that was put in front of her and dealing it.

On SEC play…
And that’s the great thing about the SEC, it’s a great conference. No matter who you play, you’ve got a chance for a great game, every single day.

Georgia sophomore first baseman Geri Ann Glasco

On what was different about her at-bat in the fifth inning…
You know, just going up there with an approach, knowing what they’re throwing me. My last at-bat, Lauren Haeger came inside with a fastball and I took it. So I kind of just sat in, knowing that they were going to come there at some point. My bat and trusting my preparation, just getting that pitch up the middle.

On how to keep the momentum moving throughout the week…
You know, we have just got to trust our preparation. We are here, we can beat anyone in this conference and we know that and we just have to go in knowing that, play with confidence and take care of ourselves. If we play our best game, we’ve got to know that we stand a chance against anyone here.

Georgia sophomore pitcher Chelsea Wilkinson

On what contributed to her having such a great game on the mound…
I was just going out there and taking one pitch at a time and trying to make good pitches. And I knew my defense was behind me all the way. They made solid plays throughout the entire game.

On having the two-run cushion…
It was such a clutch hit by Geri Ann (Glasco). It gave our whole team a spark. We just kept fighting, taking one pitch at a time.

Florida Head Coach Tim Walton

Opening Statement
I give congratulations to Georgia; I thought Chelsea Wilkinson threw a real good game. She pitched well and had some good stuff today.

On Wilkinson’s pitching…
I thought she did a good job at getting ahead and changing her speeds. She mixed up her locations and pitched into the zone. She did a really good job today.

On moving forward in preparation…
This game has nothing to do with the next step. Playing SEC teams has no effect on the regional approach. We will just go about our business, take this as a mid-week loss and get ready for the next game.

On all three pitchers…
I think being able to get Delanie (Gourley) an inning at this level was important. She has not thrown in a game in a couple weeks so getting her some innings and being able to rely upon her moving forward was saving knowledge not only for her, but also for her team. They have to know that we have confidence in her and we will be relying upon her in the future.
