Swinehart and Dreher Earn WGCA All-America Honors

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Samantha Swinehart and junior Justine Dreher earned All-America honors from the Women’s Golf Coaches Association, as announced by the WGCA on Thursday. Swinehart was named to the second team while Dreher received honorable mention.

Swinehart played a key role in the Gamecocks’ success as she found a spot in the lineup at all 12 tournaments. She wrapped up the season with a team leading 73.12 stroke average, which ranks second all-time for a single season at South Carolina. Swinehart earned second team All-SEC honors and recorded eight top-20 finishes, including a tie for 13th at the NCAA Championship.

Dreher, a first team All-SEC selection, also helped lead the Gamecocks to one of their best seasons in school history. She finished the season with a 73.36 stroke average, which ranks third all-time for a single season at South Carolina. Dreher played in all 12 tournaments and was the team’s low individual at six of those tournaments.
