COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina outfielder Gene Cone and infielder Jordan Gore will play in the 2014 Coastal Plain League All-Star Game as announced Friday by the league office. The 2014 All-Star game will be held in Morehead City, N.C. July 13-14. Both Cone and Gore are members of the Florence Redwolves summer team. They will be sophomores for the Gamecocks in the 2015 season.

Cone is batting .363 (29-for-80) and leads the CPL with nine doubles. He has scored 17 runs and driven in 10 as well and owns a .434 on-base percentage. Gore is hitting .297 (19-for-64) with 12 RBI and a .384 on-base percentage as well. Both players helped lead Florence to a West Division First-Half championship and a spot in the playoffs that begins August 6.

Players are separated by division and will be competing in front over a large contingency of scouts as well as fans. Since the game is being played in the Morehead City Marlins home ballpark, the East All-Stars will be the home team while the West All-Stars will serve as the visitors.
