KAMLOOPS, British Columbia – Former Gamecock sprinter Chris Royster teamed up with former collegian Diondre Batson (Alabama) and current collegians Remonty McClain (Azusa Pacific) and Aaron Ernest (LSU) to capture gold in the men’s 4×100-meter relay today at the 2014 North America Central America Caribbean Association (NACAC) U-23 Championships.
Team USA clocked in with a time of 38.47. Royster ran the third leg with McLain on the leadoff, Ernest second, and Batson running the anchor. McClain was a late addition to the group, replacing Florida’s Antwan Wright.
Team Jamaica finished second at 38.78, while Canada was third at 39.89.
Current Gamecock Tyler Brockington, a rising junior, will compete Sunday in the 400-meter hurdles at 2 p.m., ET on the final day of the three-day event.
