COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina has set its 2014 fall schedule for softball, playing three games on the road and hosting two weekends at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field.

With eight allowable games, the Gamecocks have scheduled five for home and three on the road, including the first two games at North Carolina on Sat., Sept. 20. The Gamecocks host Charlotte on Fri., Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. before heading out to Charleston on Fri., Oct. 3 to face the Cougars at Patriots Point at 6 p.m.

The final four games come in the Fall Carolina Classic over Oct. 10-12, which will also include Charleston Southern, Lander, Chipola (Fla.) College and Spartanburg Methodist College. The Gamecocks take on the CSU Buccaneers on Fri., Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. before taking on SMC on Saturday at 12 p.m. The Gamecocks close the event with a pair of games on Sunday against Chipola at 12 p.m. and Lander at 4 p.m.

South Carolina made its 17th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2014, going 36-22 on the campaign. Seven starters from that group return from last year’s squad.
