PRINCETON, N.J.Katie Fosnacht and Alex Martin from the South Carolina women’s tennis team registered an 8-5 victory over Alexandra Ion and Nicole Berkman from Penn on Saturday at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J.

In addition to the one doubles match, Fosnacht, Martin and Alison Mills played two singles match apiece against opponents from Princeton and Columbia. South Carolina did not register a victory in any of the six contests.

“We ended on a positive note today with Alex and Katie getting a good win in doubles,” assistant coach Jeff Nevolo said. “They have played well all weekend and it was nice to see them get in the win column. The team has competed hard all weekend and we look forward to another chance to improve tomorrow.”

Play in the Princeton Invitational wraps up Sunday.
