COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina equestrian team heads in to its winter break as the No. 3 team in the country, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) announced this week.
The Gamecocks are the highest ranked team in the Southeastern Conference, ahead of No. 4 Auburn, No. 8 Texas A&M, and No. 9 Georgia.
The Gamecocks (4-2, 2-1 SEC) are on a four-meet winning streak, the longest in the SEC. Three of those four wins have come on the road against Auburn (Oct. 10), Fresno State (Nov. 7), and Oklahoma State (Nov. 21). The Gamecocks went 1-1 at home during the fall, defeating Texas A&M on Oct. 31.
South Carolina returns to action on Jan. 31, when the the Gamecocks host SMU in the first of three home meets during the spring.
